The Cozad Community Schools Board of Education proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Dan Endorf as the incoming Superintendent, effective July 1, 2024. Dr. Endorf brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Cozad Community Schools, having served as the Director of Student Services & Safety for Kearney Public Schools.
"Dr. Endorf's leadership, knowledge, and experience are just what we need to continue moving our district forward," states Kiley Goff, CCS Board President. "Our district is nearing the completion of a multi-million dollar building project, and timing couldn't be better as Dr. Endorf has multiple previous experiences. He has a proven track record of identifying root causes and efficiently implementing effective resolutions through collaborative leadership and constructively engaging stakeholders. Dr. Endorf will work with district leaders, staff, and our community to support our students' various needs. He will be a great addition to our district, and we welcome Dr. Endorf and his family."
Dr. Endorf has held various leadership roles in education, including Superintendent of North Bend Central from 2010-2022, Principal of York High School and later Director of District Services in York (2005-10), teacher/coach and later Assistant Principal at Waverly High School (1997-2005), and a teacher/coach at Omaha Central High School (1996-97).
"My heart had students in mind when I became a teacher; this leadership position affords me the opportunity to partner with the Board and staff at Cozad Community Schools to help students achieve their dreams," said Endorf.
Dr. Endorf earned his doctorate, master's, and bachelor's degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was named the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association’s State Superintendent of the Year in 2019 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ State of Nebraska Volunteer of the Year, also in 2019.
Endorf and his wife Sharon have three children: daughter Ella, a second-year student at the University of Virginia College of Law; son Austin, a senior at Nebraska Wesleyan University; and son Asher, a senior at Kearney High School.
The Cozad Community Schools community eagerly anticipates Dr. Endorf's leadership and looks forward to the continued growth and success of the district under his guidance.
