Senior Students and Parents,
This year, the Nebraska Legislature has updated graduation requirements through the Nebraska Department of Education. All public high school seniors are now required to complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or actively opt out.
To assist families with this process, we will be hosting a:
FAFSA ID and Scholarship Open House on Wednesday, November 20th at Cozad High School Library from 5:00-7:00 PM
At this event, we can:
Help students and parents set up their FAFSA ID accounts, a required step for completing the FAFSA.
You will need the following items for students and parents: Names, Date of Birth, Personal Email Addresses, Social Security Number, if you have one.
Provide Opt-Out Forms for families who choose not to submit a FAFSA. Reasons to opt out may include:
Knowing you will not qualify for financial aid.
Your senior does not plan to attend college.
Answer questions about state and local scholarships.
Clarify any concerns about the new graduation requirement.
