Ten 5th grade students from Cozad Elementary School participated in the Sing Around Nebraska Festival held at the Merryman Performing Arts Center in Kearney on Saturday, February 22. This event, sponsored by the Nebraska Choral Directors Association is an honor children’s choir held at eight sites across Nebraska.
The students prepared music in advance with Cozad Elementary Choir Director Mrs. Senja Stephens and then worked with guest clinician Kelly Whisinnand all day. A final concert was held at 4:00 p.m. the day of the festival. Students from Cozad Elementary who participated are: Mathew Arndt, Brayden Barber, Braedon Groteluschen, Aubrey Hammerlun, Emma Howerter, Addison Howerter, Braelyn Malcom, Lillian Osburn, Owen Ross, and Rieker Spradlin, and Cozad music teacher Mrs. Senja Stephens.
