April 03, 2020
Dear Cozad Elementary Parents,
As you are likely aware, Governor Ricketts has closed all schools until May 31, 2020. Starting Monday, April 6, 2020 and continuing through the end of the 2019-2020 academic year, Cozad Community Schools will be implementing electronic learning (eLearning) for all students. Prior to April 6, we have been offering “enrichment” for students which has been review of concepts taught at school prior to the closure. On Monday our staff will start teaching new concepts in subject areas for our students.
As of Monday, April 6, the educational activities each classroom teacher is offering to students will be documented and some assignments will have grades assigned. The school is trying to make student participation and learning as easy as possible for your child. Please contact teachers through BLOOMZ and email as you have questions regarding your child’s progress. As a school, we are very aware that parents may not feel confident in helping learners with their homework, this situation is very common and makes your parent communication to our teaching staff even more important. We are here to help you!
Teachers are coordinating academic assignments for all students in each grade level. In addition, teaching staff will be setting certain times each day that they are available to answer questions for students. They will be communicating these times very soon, if they have not done so already.
Mrs. Clark and/or I will be at the elementary on week days 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Please give us a call and we will try to answer your questions or direct you to someone in the district that can help you. As we go through this difficult time for families, the building itself is closed, however we are remaining available to you and your student as we move forward with the education of all learners.
Sincerely,
Dale Henderson
Elementary Principal
