Cozad Middle School now offers parents the opportunity to allow their middle school students to access social media on their school device, outside of normal school hours.  For middle school students, access to social media is not required for any academic purpose, we just want to provide parents the opportunity to talk to their children about social media and to have the choice of allowing personal social media access for them.  Social media access will continue to be blocked on middle school student devices during the school day.

Please note that this optional agreement is only available to middle school students who are 13 years of age or older.  Students under the age of 13 will not be allowed to access social media from their school device at any time.  This agreement applies only to middle school students.

Social media is an important element in the lives of teenagers and adults.  At Cozad Community Schools, we believe that building a positive online presence is a very important skill for our students to develop as they face an increasingly digital future.  Unfortunately, there are aspects of social media which can be harmful and inappropriate for teenagers, particularly those of middle school age.  It is all too easy for young people to make mistakes which they may have to live with for the rest of their lives.  We want to work closely with our students and parents to help teach and develop the skills needed to create a positive online presence.
